Yacht clubEngaged in the energy transition for several years, the Monaco Yacht Club is pursuing an active environment policy. Created by Lord Norman Foster, its Club House was designed based on the HQE® approach and is equipped with LED lighting, energy, waste and water management systems, with hydro-cooling, solar tubes and charging points for electric vehicles. ISO 14001 certified, the YCM has also been awarded SMEG’s Egeo certification as well as the e+ label which falls within the targets set by the Climate Energy Plan. Offshore, the YCM uses bio-diesel fuel for its boats and is working on a project to build a “zero emission” committee boat, in addition to its three electric tenders. At the vanguard of this action is the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (6-10 July 2021), which encourages research and development, by stimulating the creativity of future engineers and professionals involved in propulsion systems using new energies, not to mention the SEA Index initiative. This repository, which is geared towards the owners of 40-meter yachts and above, will measure CO2 emissions with the aim of improving their environmental performance. A genuine commitment to creating the Yachting industry of the future.
